Hey everyone,
I just finished uploading a selection of my photos of the roadtrip! The route was Sydney - Blue Mountains - Canberra - Melbourne - Great Ocean Road - Adelaide in 21 days with a campervan from Britz. Enjoy!
I am now working on the picture of New Zealand :)

In Perth, Steffi and I visited the National Museum of Western Australia. There, we saw an extremely well done exhibition about the Stolen Generation which made both of us very sad. Because what some Australians did to their Indigenous people was very sad - they literally stole their children. I personally thought that it is a scandal, that (at this time) official Australia (that is the PM) did not apologize for this extremely sad chapter of Australia’s history. And I thought it is embarrising…. anway. Yesterday, Kevin Rudd (MP), finally apologized in the name of the federal government of Australia and its parliament.
You can watch the whole apology here - you should at least watch the first part (~3 minutes) because history was written here.
PS: If you don’t know nothing at all about the Stolen Generation, Google it now!

Hey guys,
sorry for not blogging for ages! I am back in Austria (as you may have noticed because we haven’t seen each other for one month plus ;)) and since one week now even back in my own apartment which is YAY! Downside is, that I am realizing now that I am really back with all the stuff that was not that important in the last 8 months - making money and planning your study for example…. speaking of my study - I am now a Bachelor of Science but this even adds a little bit to the strange feeling and stress (because I have to think of my Masters!). I reckon I am experiencing a nice (cultural) reverse shock as predicted by everyone. Good thing is I am not alone with it! So no worries :-)
The thing I am looking forward to the most right now is April, when we (that is my New Zealand crew and I) are having our reunion in London!!! I can’t wait to see Lara and Barry, Kirk, Michael, Rachel (my love!! *g*), Ray (hopefully?) and Fred (yay!!) again. The BA-ticket is already sold and is hanging on my pin-board - thanks to Qantas Frequent Flyer points hehe
You won’t believe me, but I have been meeting friends for the last two weeks EVERY DAY and didn’t have time to take a look at the photos yet (or even unpack completely!) - I am speaking of my fantastic trip with Steffi to Perth and Darwin and the whole New Zealand bunch… but I am going to sort them out and publish them on my blog here this week - I promise!
Miss you all and take care,
Andi

I’ll keep this one short and simple: I don’t want to, but I have to go back home. Today I officially checked out of UTS Housing. I will pack my stuff tomorrow and will head to the Airport the day afterwards around noon. My flight from Sydney to London Heathrow has the flightnumber BA016 and then I’ll fly with BA696 to Vienna where I should arrive about 11 o’clockish.
All this feels very strange, sometimes I just want to be back home, then I am depressed to go back home… very strange…. the good thing is, that I am not the only one feeling like this so I will catch up with all my friends in Vienna who feel the same way. And if that does not help I will just visit my new family all over Europe - god bless discount airlines! As you may have noticed I had the best time in New Zealand because found I some really nice people there. Altough it was a hard thing to say good-bye (Sue’s song does not help, does it folks?!), it also means that as soon as I am back in Europe I can visit them much easily. Therefore, lets refill the savings account :)
Take care,
Andi

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to say HI! and greetings from Kaikoura! Half of the trip is over - unfortunately :( But that also means that half of it is still to come which is great! :) My travel group (also refered to as “family” *g*) is awesome, we rock the house!
So that you have an idea with whom I am travelling with… here are the guys:

Susi (South-Korea), Tara (UK), me
Raymond (Netherlands), Michael (Denkmark), Fred (Belgium), Lara (UK)
Rachel (UK), Barry (UK) and Kirk (Scottland)
As you can see we have a lot of non-mainland Europeans :D which is pretty cool because I may get rid of my Australian accent and learn proper English again. No offense Australian friends :)
Anyway, I gotta go know - its already dinner time here in the future :)
By the way, Vodafone finally managed to get roaming to work so I should be reachable again!
Cheers,
Andi

Greetings from Christchurch! I am currently sitting in the very nice City Central YHA and I am enjoying the evening. Altough it is already almost quarter to ten o’clock, it is still bright outside but it is getting chilly. Anyway, Christchurch is a really beautiful city and I totally fell in love with the Botanical Gardens. Until I came to OZ I saw a lot of them, but this one definitely is the best I have ever seen. Really beautiful!
Tomorrow I will explore the city a little bit more before my three week trip with Let’s Trek Australia starts - exiting! I am really looking forward to it, it will be a great time :)
Merry Christmas to everyone, I will keep you up2date if possible and if I am in the mood to use a PC :)
Bye,
Andi
PS: The roaming with Vodafone doesn’t work, I have to sort this out somehow. So please be not worried if you can’t reach me!
