Despite decoration and music there is one thing that really gets you into a Christmas mood - BAKING COOKIES!

So, Kathi (the last remaining Austrian in OZ!) and I decided to bake Vanillekipferln!

Of course, the dough has to rest a little bit, so we prepared it on the 23rd at night (before Kat and I headed down town):

… and this is the (almost ready to eat) dough :) (actually just half of it)

The next day early in the morning (11 am :p) we started with the actual baking of the Vanillekipferln:

The only problem we had was the vanilla sugar didn’t taste quite as we were used to, but still it was okay and the final products of our production line tasted pretty good :)

We had a lot of help - Dani and her boyfriend Mario (visiting from Perth) helped us, Faris too! If this is not multicultural co-coperation, what is it then?!?!

We also pimped up the Kokusbusserl I found in Chinatown a little bit hehe

See how brave we were!!!

We definitely deserve some kind of medal from our PM for keeping up Austrian Christmas tradition in far far away, don’t we? ;)

By the way - fortunately everyone really liked them. Unfortunatelly we had to eat alot of them though before others could try them, because you know… they break so easily when you dip them into the sugar :)
