Kakadu NP (NT)

On the 25th Steffi and I hit the road to get to Kakadu National Park - it was bloody hot but beautiful!

Kakadu is about 20.000km² big - with a lot of straight roads :D Ozzie road experience at its best!We wanted to take a look......at these wetlands.But after 15 minutes...... we surrendered because we were already running out of water (we brought about 3.5liter!!!)No kidding!Taking this picture was kind of dangerous - you will learn why in a second...But before that - check out this banana palm....... in our foregarden! This was the place where we stayed... it was really nice :)We had our own toilet and shower - in a seperate building of course ;)Of course we had a BBQ ;)A and by the way - the uranium mine shown here is surrounded by the NP....... honi soit qui mal y pense.A storm is coming - drive faster Steffi!!!Back to the dangerous part. I am not kidding, there were huge dangerous crocs everywhere! You must not go near water if it is not a swimming pool!This beautiful view shows us part of the Arnhem Land. One of the last big terrotories where the local people call live by their cultureI ate a lot, so you grow! :DIt is even more overwhelming in nature!
