Despite decoration and music there is one thing that really gets you into a Christmas mood - BAKING COOKIES!
So, Kathi (the last remaining Austrian in OZ!) and I decided to bake Vanillekipferln!

Hey everybody!
On the 23rd, Kat and I decided to take a look at Sydney dressed up for Christmas and enjoy the best parts of Sydney again before I leave. But it all started with the hunt for Santa Hats at Paddy’s Markets in Chinatown…

Hey everybody!
On the 22nd the traditional Carols in The Domain took place - a beautiful event to get into a Christmas mood by listening to Christmas carols in one of the nicest locations of Sydney! But lets start from the beginning…
One picture says more than 1000 words, doesn’t it?

Hey!
Its getting sad again - Steffi left some minutes ago, back to good old Austria.
It is really hard to grasp, I would almost say unbelievable, how FAST all of this great time flew away so quickly.
Sorry for being lazy with blogging during our road trip but I just did not want to turn on the laptop and what is more there was no Internet or even reception in 95% if the places we have been to. But the roadtrip was absolutely AWESOME and I have not been that relaxed for…. actually I can’t think of any time :) The only sad thing was that Kangaroo Island (near Adelaide) was on fire (to be accurate, 75% of the Island were on fire!!!) so we missed one of our highlights of the trip :( But on the other hand that is good, ’cause I now have one reason more to come back :) So thanks very much Steffi and Faris for this great trip!
With Steffi gone, I really have the feeling that my days here are kind of over too… which is fortunately not the case, at least not now. In 4 days I head to New Zealand to start my 23 days trip there. I am sure it will be amazing but I don’t realize it until now.
Anyway, its almost Christmas! OH MY GOD! It has approx 30 °C here in Sydney and it should get warmer/hotter every day. We will see if I will be in a Christmas mood… but we (that is “the internationals”) are planning something for the 24th so that we are not alone ;) Hopefully the weather will be nice on the 24th - today is the first nice day since seven days or something!
Tomorrow we will go to the “Carols in The Domain” (Christas Carols in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Sydney) which should be very nice. It will be fun…
By the way - I finished my semester here at UTS quite successfully. Once my four subjects are credited, I can press one button in the WU Controlpanel and I am a Bachelor of Science - Andreas Badelt, BSc (WU) - looks great :D To make this happen eventually, I sent some paperwork back home via Express Courier… hopefully everything will arrive… you never know with our “Post” (especially during Christmas time)…
Anyway, I will get out of this bloody room now - have fun!
Cheers,
Andi

We spent the full 7th and 8th of December in Melbourne and half of the day of the 9th. Then we decided to get rid of all the people and start to get going to the Great Ocean Road - so we headed off to Backshore Heads??

Today we took a look at the rest of Wilsons Promontory NP, including Squeeky Beach (you know why it has this name once you have been there). Then we headed off to Hastings (a suburb of Melbourne).

Today we started our trip from the Ninety Mile Beach down to “The Prom”, an Island near Melbourne. We liked this NP so much, that we decided to stay for two days.
We saw the absolut beautiful Norman Beach where a river meets the sea (one of my top 3 beaches here in OZ), had a BBQ there (it was delish! :D) and watched the sunset at Whisky Bay before docking in our harbour in the NP. I really have to say, this NP is one of the best, cleanest, best equipped and nicest I have been to so far - OZ really sets standards here.
